HILTON GARDEN INN®GRAND FORKS / UND BREAKS GROUND IN NORTH DAKOTA
Grand Forks, North Dakota, April 16, 2002 — University Hotel Development, LLC today announced the groundbreaking of the 100-room Hilton Garden Inn®, at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota which is expected to open in Winter 2002.
University Hotel Development, LLC, has applied for a license agreement with Hilton Inns, Inc., the franchise subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based Hilton Hotels Corporation, and is developing the newly constructed Hilton Garden Inn Grand Forks at UND in conjunction with Beechwood Development, LLC and Tom Arnot, a member of the Hilton Garden Inn Advisory Board and last year’s recipient of the Hilton Garden Inn Outstanding Merit Award. Exel / Beechwood Management, LLC will manage the hotel.

Ideally situated in the University Tech Park at the intersection of 42nd Street and DeMers Avenue, the three-story Hilton Garden Inn Grand Forks / UND will feature: a signature glass-walled pavilion housing the reception desk; a Pavilion Pantry® with a selection of refrigerated, frozen and microwavable packaged items, and sundries; the Great American Grill® restaurant, offering freshly prepared breakfast; a comfortable lounge area with a television and fireplace; 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space; a 24-hour, complimentary business center; and an on-site laundry facility.
Guest room accommodations and features will include: a hospitality center with a microwave oven, coffee maker and mini refrigerator; a sitting area with an easy chair and ottoman; a hairdryer; and an iron and ironing board. Business-oriented features of the guest rooms will include: a spacious work desk with a pull-out shelf for a portable computer; adjustable lighting; an ergonomic chair; electrical outlets at desk height; and two telephones equipped with two lines, data ports and voice mail.
Recreational facilities will consist of a fitness room, indoor swimming pool and whirlpool. Guests can also find golf courses, bicycling, and tennis courts nearby.
